My Story

Love of movement and people



Growing up in the Netherlands, I was an active child with endless energy.  I found that I excelled at sports and the love of movement never left me.  In fact, I loved physical fitness so much that after 10 years in corporate America, I left it all behind to become a personal trainer.


For the past 19 years I have worked in the fitness industry.  Although I have worked with people of all ages, my focus is on active agers and older adults.


I’ve worked with many people both one-on-one and in small groups, and I love what I do, but, what breaks my heart is that my clients worry about falling.  Because if they fall and injure themselves then they’re afraid they can no longer live their lives.


Many clients come to me frustrated and angry, because they

  • experienced a frightening fall
  • received a diagnosis of osteoporosis
  • tried many different exercise classes but they were not getting the results they wanted
  • they worked with personal trainers who couldn’t find the cause of their unsteadiness

That is why I decided to focus on active agers and older adults to help them address their balance issues and avoid scary falls, so they can continue their active lifestyles.


I have spent the last 19 years doubling down on training after training to beef up on my assessment skills and to learn how to create outstanding exercise prescriptions and wellness plans tailored to the unique needs of each individual.


The reason I can do this is because I am not only an experienced personal trainer, but I am also a Certified Health Coach. This allows me to help you overcome the habits that stop you from being the healthiest version of yourself.


I’ve seen over many years that vibrant health does not just depend on the physical exercise our bodies need. It is also affected by the many small daily decisions and habits that negatively impact health. 


That is why I meld it all together and offer a 360˚ approach to your physical health and wellness.
